Brian
Dear church family and friends,

We have been blessed in many ways these past few months with seeing God's hand on us and watching Him work. He has given us much to be thankful for. The articles and pictures below are a look back at some of the things God has been doing in our midst. Thank you for your part.

This Sunday begins a New Year! We will gather for Sunday School for everyone at 9:00 a.m. followed by a combined service at 10:45 a.m. Of note: Ron Taylor will be preaching as he shares from James 1 on suffering and trials and what God has taught him from his journey with terminal cancer. Pray that God will use him mightily.

God's blessings to you in the New Year ahead!

My love to you and prayers for you,
1 Debbie

Fall Carnival

Our Wild West Fall Carnival was held on Friday, October 28, and proved again to be a great opportunity to have fun while meeting lots of people from our community. We had a wide variety of carnival games for the kids to enjoy and everyone got to have a free hot dog meal! The Gospel was creatively presented by "Amazing Truth Ministries" through a very impressive "magic" show. Special thanks to all of the volunteers who worked at the carnival - it couldn't have happened without YOU!

Men's Breakfast

GFBC men meet periodically for Saturday breakfasts. On November 12, they met to hear guest speaker, Dr. Paul Null. He gave a very moving testimony of his salvation and how God has worked in his live. We will be privileged to have him as our speaker in March. Stay tuned for registration coming us soon.

New Members

On November 13, we voted in several new members. They were Autumn and Terry Bryant and their two children (not pictured), Jared and Lucianna Dilsaver and their four children, Terran Hall and Greg Lindstrom. We are blessed that they have chosen to covenant with us in God's family here at GFBC. Be sure to welcome them.

Operation Christmas Child

The efforts of our AWANA families, along with the GFBC families produced a total of 104 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, filled with toys, hygiene items, school supplies and candy. These boxes will travel all over the world to needy communities and will be given to children who attend special gospel presentations given by the local churches and Samaritan's Purse volunteers.

Youth Dessert Auction

21 youth from GFBC will be going to Winter Youth Celebration after Christmas. In order to raise funds for this, they once again held a dessert auction which raised $1,290. Simple desserts get auctioned off for as much as $100. Special tables were auctioned off which provided special food and drink.

Women's Christmas Dessert

Beautiful tables, wonderful fellowship, great speaker!

Women's ministry of GFBC hosted the always elegant Christmas Dessert on December 2. Pastor's wife Carrie Porter shared a very special message of God's love that provided a very clear message of the Gospel to the 186 ladies that attended. Many were invited guests who were unchurched. We pray the seeds of the Gospel will find their way to good soil. Thanks to Paula Irvine and cooking crew, to the youth for their help in serving and to Tracy Early who coordinated this effort. Monies were also raised for the youth and for mission's work.

Children's Christmas Program
For the Glory of the King

The children of GFBC presented "For the Glory of the King" on the evening of Sunday, December 11. Narrators, soloists and all the traditional characters of the Nativity were part of this play within a play that truly was a message of praise to our Savior. The children sang out joyfully and the costumed characters were adorable!

Adult Christmas Program

From Heaven to Bethlehem

Jeff Bottemiller conducted our adult choir in "From Heaven to Bethlehem", a medley of Christmas favorites and narration on the Christmas story. Choir members also came from three neighboring churches. It was a masterful work of worship culminating in the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah. Thanks Jeff for your work and talent at bringing us this blessing along with our skilled musicians and choir members!
