Sonshine Preschool is comprised of Christian teachers who strive to provide an extension to families where children can learn and grow in a loving, safe, and grace-centered environment. Our primary goal is to guide children in experiencing the love of Jesus, and to in turn share that love with others. Sonshine Preschool uses a biblical worldview curriculum that stimulates physical, mental, and social academic development. Research shows that early childhood is the most important time of development in the life of a child and the foundation of everyday skills prepares a child for future academic success.
Sonshine Preschool Enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year will begin on March 1st for returning families, as well as GFBC and Paideia families. We are full for the current year, but if you are interested in next year, the Registration Form 2018-19, is available at the Information Center and in the church office from 8:30am-4:30pm if you are not able to download one from this site. We will make the new 2018-2019 Registration Form available starting February 15th. Open Enrollment for new families will begin on March 15th. This is earlier than our typical April 1st Open Enrollment date, so please tell your friends in case they might be waiting for our usual April 1st date.

The Sonshine Brochure 2018-19 will let you know our hours of operation and tuition rates. We have made the decision to still offer parents their choice of the number of days for their child, as well as which days they would like to attend. This is a very rare opportunity in our area, but it works for us, and we know that parents really appreciate it. We are excited to announce that we will be offering a new Pre-K Class this upcoming year! We will accept applications for this class of up to 7 students pending assessment approval.
Before applying, we ask that you read through our Parent Handbook 2017-18 (please note that this is the current year handbook and not 2018-19) to familiarize yourself with our school’s policies and procedures. It is a very helpful resource that will answer many questions that you might have about how we run things at Sonshine. Included in the handbook you will also find our Statement of Faith as well as Health and Safety Guidelines.
Upon reading the Parent Handbook and asking the Director any questions you might have, we ask you to sign our Parent Handbook Agreement.
Once the Registration Form 2018-19 is completely filled out and turned in with the Parent Handbook Agreement, the $65 Non-Refundable Registration Fee and a current picture of your child, we will notify you if your child has been accepted into Sonshine Preschool, and what days are open for them to attend.
Summer Wednesday Play Group is open to all families of preschool age children along with their siblings. This is a fun time for parents to visit and the kids to play together in our facility. We hold Summer Wednesdays the last Wednesday of each summer month. The previous Summer Wednesday Flyer 2017 will give you more details about our fun mornings.

We are so very excited to be partnering this year with The Father’s Heart in Oregon City. We have discovered a great opportunity for your children to be thinking of others’ needs and helping out in a tangible way. During the last week of each month we will be asking for donations and putting together 90 sack lunches for their ministry. The kids will enjoy putting all of the items in a lunch bag throughout that week as well as coloring and painting pictures for them. What a great way to show the students that there are many other children out there that do not automatically have a lunch provided for them every day when they are home. We will also be working as a team with Paideia as the older students assemble the sandwiches and write kind notes for the lunch sacks.
